New online shop venture at Life
From food and wines to books, art and flowers, Archant Life is pioneering a new online shop showcasing the very best in local produce.
The new Local Online Shopping venture is currently being trialed by the websites of Cotswold Life and Oxfordshire Life after going live last Wednesday.
As well as giving readers a great way to choose from a wide range of local products and suppliers, Archant Life receives a cash cut of all products sold via the site.
The added content also means that more web traffic will be driven through the Life sites.
Mary Willis, web marketing co-ordinator for Archant Life, said: “A lot of the local companies advertising don’t have their own websites so this gives them a really great opportunity to sell their products online.
“All the categories, such as food and drink, and gardening, are all areas we already feature in the magazines, so this is adding real value to what we already do. We are also featuring ‘bestsellers’ and ‘featured products’.
“When the items purchased are sent out they will arrive with the Archant Life logos on the packaging to reinforce our brand,” she added.
The new online offering has been set up by an outside company called Reader Shop and if the function is a success, it will be rolled out across all Archant Life websites.
