New connection for Robyn
Archant Lifestyle has announced the launch of a new magazines digital media unit and two senior appointments.
Robyn Bechelet is moving within Archant to take up the new role of Digital Publisher, Archant Connect, and Dominic Green, joins Archant Life East on June 1 as Advertisement Director.
Robyn moves to lead a new digital media unit based in Prospect House, Norwich. Archant Connect is a new business development formed to investigate Archant’s opportunity to earn profits from generating leads for advertisers from within digital magazines.
Archant Lifestyle MD, Johnny Hustler, said: "Robyn has a wealth of experience in publishing with her background as a commercial publisher for Archant Life East, where she has been driving forward advertisement revenues and was previously editor for Archant Life East titles.
The new unit sits alongside Archant’s other magazines businesses and, said Johnny: "Robyn will be responsible for all operational aspects of this exciting new venture which will target a brand new source of revenue for Archant. We have an attractive audience ready to receive and respond to online magazines and I believe Robyn’s enthusiastic and fantastic creative flair will help us make the idea a success."
The Archant Life East team achieved its highest levels of profitability so far with Robyn as publisher. Previous to joining Archant Life in 2004, Robyn was publisher and launch editor of EADT Suffolk magazine at Archant Suffolk where career highlights have included roles as launch editor of the East Anglian Daily Times Saturday magazine and EADT news editor. Roles as features editor and responsibilities for commercial features have given her a wide understanding of the business.
Robyn joined the company, which was then Eastern Counties Newspapers, as a reporter for the East Anglian Daily Times in 1990. In 1988 her career in journalism began as a junior reporter with Greater London and Essex Newspapers, now part of Archant.
A delighted Robyn said: "My job is to help build a successful business by creating beautiful online magazines which readers respond to. This is an opportunity of a lifetime."
Dominic Green joins Archant Life as Advertisement Director (East) where he will report to Tim Thurston.
