Established in 1931, Derbyshire Life & Countryside was the first county magazine - so it has a long and proud tradition to uphold. With its rich variety of landscape and heritage Derbyshire is a microcosm of England. The landscape is diverse and beautiful, stretching from dark moorland in the north through gentle central dales and hills to rolling fertile land in the south. It has winding rivers and still reservoirs, great country estates, houses and churches and the relics of past industrial greatness. Its market towns and villages keep alive old traditions and an appreciation of the countryside and farming community, while the county's urban centres acknowledge the thriving businesses and modern technology that bring wealth and prosperity to the region.
